Liver cancer is a devastating illness. A person’s relative passed away at 52 due to a bile duct tumor, medically termed cholangiocarcinoma, which is uncommon and typically affects older individuals.

The progression included early signs of constant exhaustion lasting years and persistent side pain, initially attributed to gallstones. Imaging tests like MRI and ultrasound later revealed tumors that had extended to the liver and lungs.

Upon receiving a terminal prognosis, the individual’s condition worsened rapidly, leading to death within six weeks. Oxygen support was required, limiting mobility to a resting area while awaiting a procedure to insert a bile drainage stent. The discomfort became severe.

Blood toxicity levels rose sharply overnight, prompting a move to end-of-life care when home support was insufficient. Taste diminished, and complaints arose about dry food in the mouth.

Organ function declined, starting with loss of walking ability, followed by difficulty forming full sentences in the final days, though understanding remained slow. Eventually, the organs ceased to function.

In the last day, breathing became difficult, marked by a gurgling sound, and the final moments were observed. After death, the body cooled rapidly as circulation stopped, a noticeable change.
