Cancer Survivors Share Their Stories as Oncologist Offers Support Through New Book IN Nigeria

Cancer survivors and their families recently came together to reflect on their journeys, inspired by the release of a new book aimed at offering guidance, hope, and practical support.https://guardian.ng/news/nigeria/metro/cancer-survivors-relive-experiences-as-oncologist-offers-respite-for-patients/

Dr. Salako, through her book The Gifts of Survivorship: You Are Bigger Than Cancer, provides a thoughtful and practical roadmap for patients, survivors, and caregivers. Combining evidence-based guidance, spiritual insight, and real-life experiences, the book equips readers with tools to manage treatment, navigate financial challenges, strengthen family bonds, and cultivate inner peace during and after their cancer journeys.

Speaking on the book, Dr. Salako said:

“For us at ACT Foundation, we are proud to support the tireless work of Sebeccly Cancer Care in ensuring that survivors are not only treated, but also truly seen and heard. Survivors are not defined by what has happened to them, but by who they become.”

The launch also highlighted the commitment of leaders in healthcare and business to transforming cancer care. Dr. Kola Adesina, Group Managing Director of Sahara Power Group and Board Chairman of Pearl Oncology Specialist Hospital, who served as the Chief Launcher of the book, commended Dr. Salako’s dedication to improving the survivorship experience for patients.

The event emphasized the importance of seeing survivors as more than their diagnosis, providing them with tools, support, and recognition to reclaim their lives and move forward with strength and hope.
